Diary, 1863.

This diary, kept in _Pocket Diary, 1863_. (Boston: Chase & Nichols, [1862]), contains brief daily entries that record a year in the life of a nineteenth century farmer. Powers notes work done on his farm by him and others, as well as work he performed for others. There are mentions of illness, including a bout of diptheria that swept through his household and caused the death of (his son?) George. There are also mentions of church meetings and singing.
